No! Thanks for asking. If your child could do this independently, he already would. You need to explicit teach it. This means say every step out loud for your child at the beginning.
With time, they can try a few sentences on their own and you can provide feedback.

Yes, there is research that shows that students with sentences broken in to chunks score better in comprehension.
Q3: Do we really need all these pages?
Maybe yes, maybe no. It depends on your kid. But many children do needs to be clearly taught a lot of phonics skills and this resource does that!
